RAC Concours

I was very fortunate to recently be invited to the Royal Automobile Club’s Concours at Epsom. The invitation came courtesy of my good friend Eman Martin-Vignerte at Bosch.

It was a wonderful day out looking at some beautiful cars ,both the stars of the Sotheby’s auction and those of RAC Members.

One of the the themes was ‘Shooting Brakes’. There were several lovely examples and conversions including a take on the famous Ferrari ”Bread Van’. It was just a shame there wasn’t a Volvo P1800 which is one of my favourites.

There was also a display of ‘extravagant spoilers’ which included a 930 Porsche 911 ‘Whale tail’ like mine.

I hope that you enjoy the photos of some of my favourites. There’s a link to the auction itself at the bottom of the page – have a guess what the rather grubby Porsche 911 went for.

Once again a big thank you to Eman and Bosch for a wonderful day

Here’s a link to the auction catalogue and here’s a link to the grubby Porsche– I suggest you sit down before opening it.

As I’ve been out and about a bit doing Classic Car shows and meets I thought it would be a shame for my baby to miss out so I thought that I’d include it as it’s just had its 40th birthday.
